The pump does not build pressure

Short checks only. This is not a repair procedure. Stop for a smell of gas, a hydrogen or leak shutdown, a damaged fitting or column, or a fault that does not change.

Quick checks

Cause

Pump not running, flow at zero, prime valve open, empty bottle, air in the inlet, or a large leak.

Check

Close the prime valve only after the line is full of solvent. Do not run the pump dry.

When to call

Call if it will not prime or the pump stops on a fault. Do not bypass an interlock.

Full notes

Confirm the pump is running and the flow is not zero. Check that the purge or prime valve is closed. Check that solvent is in the reservoir and that the inlet line and sinker frit are under the liquid. Open the prime path and draw solvent through until the line is full and free of air, then close it and try the method flow again.

A large leak downstream will also show as no pressure. Find it before you keep the pump running dry.

Call Mahut if the pump reports a fault and stops, if you cannot prime, or if there is no pressure and no visible leak after priming. Do not bypass a leak or pressure interlock.

Still not restored?

If the system is not restored, the next step is a corrective visit, not a second round of the same fittings.
